so in august of 2008 (this year) i will have been living in las vegas for a year and so i've thought about what it has been like for me. to be honest it's kind of like living anywhere else except your gas stations and grocery stores have slot and video poker machines. i wake up in the morning and get ready for work or school. i spend my free time studying, hanging out with friends, and going to the gym. the only time i go and do things associated with vegas is only when family or friends are in town. so when people come to visit it's like a vegas vacation for me, but i only have to drive 30 minutes instead of 5 hours. so now that i realize that living in vegas is kind of like living in orem (except there is a higher percentage of mormons in orem) or anywhere for that matter.
it has started to get really hot in vegas recently. the forecast for this week has a high temperature of nothing below 105 with over night lows in the mid 80's. so it is getting super hot. at school sometimes i have to walk a bit to get from my car to class. this isn't a big deal for me i am over it. but i have noticed something on these walks. when i breathe out through my nose it makes it feel kind of cold. this is when i realized that you really know it's hot when the air in your lungs cools your nostrils. think about it normal body temperature is about 98.6 degrees, and so i can't imaging that the air leaving your lungs during normal breathing would vary much from this. but think about this something that is 98 degrees making your nose feel cold...did you think about it? it's mind bottling isn't it? anywho if you live in vegas or the next time you visit pay attention to the cooling sensation that breathing out of your nose has on your nostrils.
